Equity Compensation Tax Advisor For High Income Professionals
We don't just file returns. We plan for liquidity events, navigate AMT traps, and help you keep more of your wealth.

Trusted by employees at top tech companies

Who We Work With
Our clients have stock, options, and crypto that require more than basic tax prep. They require strategy.

TECH PROFESSIONALS
Equity compensation looks valuable but often feels confusing. RSUs hit like income, options sit idle, and the tax bill always seems bigger than expected.
We show you what your stock is really worth, when it makes sense to act, and how to turn equity into actual wealth that funds your goals.

TECH FOUNDERS
You have sacrified years of your life to build your company. The last thing you want is to lose what you've built to taxes. QSBS, 83(b), tenders, and exit planning are full of rules that can cost millions if handled the wrong way.
We help founders protect the value of their equity and keep more of what they have earned when liquidity finally arrives.

CRYPTO INVESTORS
The IRS rules on crypto keeps shifting, and tracking trades, staking, and wallets can become overwhelming.
We bring clarity, minimize taxes, and fit your crypto into your bigger wealth plan.
How We Help
01

LISTEN
This is where we ask a bunch of questions and do our fact gathering. We want to know about your hopes and dreams along with your fears and constraints. Show us your equity plan and the other major financial pieces in your life.
02

ANALYZE
We review what you want and determine whether it’s achievable. If it is – we’ll see if we can do it even better. If it’s not, we give you the reality of what you can do so that you can make intelligent decisions with substance.

03
IMPLEMENT
We help put a plan together for you to follow. If external parties are involved, we will assist in coordinating them to put your master plan into action. We may bring in an estate planning attorney to structure vehicles to defer taxation on your stock. We’ll work with your wealth team to maximize your liquidity.

One of the few game-changing opportunities was working with Minnie. I’ve seen multiple experts - only Minnie provided timely planning with effective tax strategies.

When I was offered our stock buy-out, Minnie really helped me and my wife with the details and tax planning. She is awesome to work with.

About Minnie Lau CPA PC
Minnie Lau CPA, PC is a boutique tax advisory firm serving tech professionals, founders, and crypto investors with complex equity and wealth. We focus on advanced strategies for RSUs, ISOs, NSOs, QSBS, 83(b) elections, and digital assets. Our goal is to reduce taxes while protecting and growing long term wealth.
We work best with clients who see equity as an ongoing part of their financial story. Most earn more than $750K each year or realize capital gains of more than $1M year after year. Our role is not to step in for a single windfall, but to build a trusted relationship through IPOs, tenders, liquidity events, and beyond. We want clients who value proactive planning and a partner for the long haul - not just a transactional filing.
About Minnie
I’ve been running my own practice since 2013 and built it into a firm in 2016. Along the way, I’ve helped tech professionals and founders turn confusing equity and crypto situations into real, lasting wealth. From the never-ending parade of IPOs and tenders to the everyday headache of RSUs, I’ve seen just about everything. My clients know me for being direct, practical, and maybe a little funny — because if we can’t laugh about taxes, what’s the point?
Professionally, I’ve been featured in the New York Times, taught continuing education with multiple CPA state societies and the Financial Planning Association, and I’m currently writing a book on the nuances of equity compensation for the tech professional.
When I’m not talking tax strategy, I’m usually fussing over my hydroponic garden or dragging my kids on their next long distance bike ride.
